Dedication of SEEC Shade Structure

Saturday, October 29, 2016 - 17:30

The dedication for Soaring Eagle Ecology Center's new shade structure was held on a fabulous fall day (October 29, 2016) in Red Feather Lakes and attended by 28 community members and volunteers. This awesome structure was made possible by a wonderful grant from the American Academy of Dermatology, and the expertise and support of over twenty dedicated volunteers. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) was established in 1938, and currently has over 19,000 members. The AAD Shade Structure grant program was established in 2000,  and has awarded over 300 shade structure grants that provide sun protection for over 500,000 children, teens and adults. This year Soaring Eagle was honored to have been one of the 19 grant recipients that were selected throughout the United States. SEEC is extremely grateful to Dr. Brad Baack, dermatologist with the Fort Collins Skin Clinic and AAD member, for sponsoring SEEC's grant application. Without his support, this much needed shade structure at SEEC would not have been possible. We would also like to give a big THANK YOU to GH Phipps of Wyoming, Blueline Equipment Rentals, Holmes A1 Rentals, and all of our tireless volunteers under the leadership of Audie, our leader and mentor. YOU ARE AWESOME!
